Flip Flops = Summer June 20, 2017 19:11

Well not in my world. In my world, I wear flip flops year round. Rain, snow, ice, shine, etc. So when I saw this little Scrap Factory cutie from Scrappy Dew's freebie Friday file, I had to do something with her!
Scrap Factory Closet - 6-16-2017
You can find this file on Scrappy Dew's site in the Scrap Factory Closet
I used this flip card file to bring a little bit of working elements to the card.
For her toes, I wanted them to look painted so I grabbed a sharpie and did a quick outline on the top.
Thinking of the sun and summer, I think of flip flops, beach umbrellas, and beach bags!

For my mentor and my best friend! March 12, 2017 18:16

This is a very special birthday card.  I make one each year and each year I think this is the best one yet!  This year I used Scrap Factory!  If you haven't worked with it or heaven forbid, you have never heard of it, use the link and go check it out.  It is a program that ScrappyDew created a few years ago.  Gang, it lets you create your own svg files of either a boy or a girl.  So you select a body, hair, outfit and accessory item and then save the file.  The file is automatically saved as a svg file ready for a number of cutters.  Let me show you what I designed but first this weeks colors.

Back to School with Gunnar! August 22, 2016 10:02

Hello and welcome to my blog.  This week I have a back to school card for my very special friend, Gunnar.  I started making back to school cards for him a couple of years ago.  Here is this years edition.  Let's do the lyrics first...

~The amazing Scrap Factory Program
     Teen Scene -No open toes
                      -Outfit Teen boy #3
                      -Hair 'Charles'
                      -Accessory glasses
~Miss Elizabeths foam stickers Backpack and apples
~ScrappyDew Bookworm 2015 view #3 (changed hair to Charles from SF)
~Font is Market Deco
~Paper used:  DCWV Textures 180
                     KaiserKraft P1027 'fulfill'
**That's the major stuff.  All other stuff is still the same**

I have it on the best authority that Gunnar loved his card.  Especially the figure with the T-shirt (wonder why?).

The front of the card

That is an envelope pocket on the right.  I put a
personal note to Gunnar on it.

The back.

The Envelope. I thought the paper for the card and envelope were just perfect for back to school.  A grown up student instead of a little kid.
Next week I hope to have another birthday card featuring Scrap Factory and some rubber stamping and coloring.  Have a great upcoming week.
Bright blessings, Jana

3 cheers for Tina! August 13, 2016 18:29

Friends of Friends!

Hey there, I'm back!!!  Hopefully you saw the sneaky peeky over at the facebook Rhapsody on Paper page.  This sneaky peeky was the back of a birthday card.  The card is going to (ok, this is tricky) my daughters best friends mom.  We have never met, but we have talked a few times.  Maybe this year we will get our girls together and finally get to meet face to face.   So here come the birthday card lyrics...

~ScrappyDew Cheerleader Girl 2015
~Scrap Factory Hair Bridgette (remember if you have Scrap Factory, you CAN change the           hair on any ScrappyDew figure)
~Recollections paper new and scraps
~DCWV Glitter stack
~INKS Colorbox Petal Point Classic
Cookie Dough, Black and Light Blue
~Font
     Bistro Hand (found at Dafont.com)
~Die
     Banner
~Happy Birthday Font from dafont.com
~My precious Silver Bullet 24" pro cutter
~My new Grand Calibre by Spellbinders
~my needle nose tweezers, 3M spray adhesive
~Milk and Oregon Chai combo

I wanted to let you know, when you import figures from files made by ScrappyDew, keep them at original size.  Go into Scrap Factory and pic a hairstyle that you might like better.  Import that hairstyle at original size.  Then you can put the hair on the figure and adjust accordingly.  I love this feature of Scrap Factory!  So here is this weeks birthday card for Tina.

I just happened to find the little megahorn sticker at St. Vinnies.

Oops. I also used the cupcake from the Cuttlebug.  I just threw
together the happy birthday and banner from my collections
of stuff.

The back

In the envelope ready to be addressed. I had a lot of fun making this card.  I used items that I had no idea how to use.  Thank goodness for YouTube.
For next week, I have a back to school card for a young gentleman.  Hope you can join me!!
bright blessings, Jana

Are you a Relic? July 31, 2016 07:39

Hello everyone!  I have a funny birthday card today.  We had 'the bobs' last week.  This week is the shop managers birthday.  Duane has known Bob since he was a little boy.  It was Duane's wish to someday work with Bob.  Well for the past 9 years he has.  Couldn't ask for a better shop manager.  Each year I make an apple pie and a birthday card.  Here is what I came up with for this year.  (yes, bob and duane could be father and son. they look so much alike)  Here is the lyrics...

~Scrap Factory program (get it if you haven't)
     Body-No open toes
     Hair-Dan
     Outfit-Couples suit 6
     Accessory-None
~ScrappyDew Fossil Hunters view #3

~Dino footprint Vector File Converted to svg
~Inkadinkado Happy Birthday Stamp
~Ranger Liquid Pearls
~SCAL V4.049 cutting software
~Silver Bullet Pro 24" cutter
***you imagine what tools I use***

So here is the card I created.  I hope that Duane gets the humor.

He got the apple pie on Thursday and will get the card on Monday.  So happy that I can make something that puts a smile on his face.
Next week another birthday card.  Slowly getting back in the groove....
Bright Blessings for a fantastic week for you!

Happy Birthday to "The Bob" July 23, 2016 18:36

Today is my husband Bob's birthday.  I try to treat him like a king everyday.  Some would say that I am a 50's housewife.  But in return I am also treated like a queen!  So I try to make him birthday cards that reflect either his passion for boating or his love of working on any sort of engine.  The engines won out for this year.  But lyrics first...

~ScrappyDew Scrap Factory
     Body-No open toes
     Hair-Doc
     Outfit-Construction #2
     Accessory-None
~Stamps
     430-JJ Tool Frame 1999
     Enbossing Arts Co.
~Paper
     Embellish by Dena 2013 'Tanya'
     DCWV Textures 180 stack
~Still playing with blocks
SVGCoop you must become a member to download many many very nice
     SVG files for FREE!!!
~The list of weekly items
My Silver bullet 24" Professional Cutter
     SCAL V4.049
Tools tools tools especially my dental tools for weeding vinyl

So here is what I came up with.  You saw in the last post The Bob that I created in Scrap Factory.  So now here is his birthday card in all it's glory!!!

The outside (i made the blocks by hand)

Here is the vinyl pattern from SVGCoop
Here is Bob
The complete inside of card
This is the tin sign that I found as a gift!
So for tonight, I am hoping that he is up to going out for dinner at the Chinese Buffet that also has a Mongolian grill.
That's it for this week.  Next week is my sister of the heart Kelly's birthday.  Who knows what I will come up with!
Bright blessings, Jana

Santa Treat July 12, 2016 12:23

Christmas Jammies Expansion Pack

In keeping with the "Christmas in July" theme, I, once again, used a file from Scrap Factory. This file was also a freebie in the Scrap Factory Closet.

I am in love with the Xmas Jammie kids!! It was soo much fun putting this little guy together! I would love to see your projects using this file!!

Hope you have a great week! See ya next time!!

P.S. the chocolate covered pretzels were delicious lol

Create Your Own Style! July 05, 2016 11:42

Scrap Factory Fruity Divas

I hope everyone enjoyed their July 4th celebrations! Today I am sharing a card I made using Scrap Factory Plum Fruity Diva. The theme for this card is something that really breaks my heart.....Bullying!!! This is for a teenager I know who was bullied at school for her sense of style. I believe everyone should be "unique" and "be their own person". I found the perfect quote by Orson Welles.

~ DT Deb

Cheeky Fun!! July 05, 2016 07:53

Costume Parade Scrap Factory

My DT project today was a little bit of cheeky fun. I used the Scrap Factory Costume Parade and added the poodle from Drop Dead Divas, 2014 on my surprise present bag (the surprise is, it is actually empty at the moment)!! I hope you like it :)

~DT -Karen~

Meet "The Bob" June 25, 2016 11:29

I have a confession to make.  I let time get away and thought I had another week before I needed to do my posting.  SURPRISE JANA!!!  You post THIS Saturday.  So this is what I came up with.   Meet THE BOB, also called my hubby.  But first the lyrics...
~Body-No Open Toes
~Hair-Doc
~Outfit-Construction worker #2
~Accessory-None
~Stamp-430-JJ Tool Frame 1999 by Embossing Arts Co.
~Paper-Embellish bu Dena 2013 'Tanya'
~Paper-DCWV Textures 180 Stack
~Recollections paper scraps
~The kitchen sink of tools
I knew that I have The Bob's birthday coming up soon on the 23rd of July.  I try to make him a unique card each year.  So for this year I actually made The Bob.  (i'm sure he will get a big kick out of this)  Lets see the pics...
This is my husband Bob.
This is my darling husband Bob!
I found this stamp at St. Vinnies.  Knew right away what I was using it for.
Now I am not quite sure if I will design the card with the background
on the outside or on the inside.
This is what a blue card would possibly look like. So I have at least made a background and a BOB.  If you compare the pictures, I'd say I got pretty dang close.
I hope to have a 4th of July card for you next week.
Until then, Bright blessings, Jana
ps. I will post when I finish his birthday card.

#1 Pop June 20, 2016 07:33

Graduation 2016 June 11, 2016 16:32

Seems just like yesterday, Michelle asking me to join the design team and write a blog. Well folks we are at 150 posts.  (that's 2.88 years) I couldn't have achieved this goal without all the help from ScrappyDew and all my friends.  I am very thankful to keep writing.
OK now on to this weeks post.  It's graduation season around Oregon.  When Bob and I got together, there was a little 7 year old that was cute as a button.  She is now a gifted swimmer and graduating.  Gosh how time flies.  Here come the lyrics...
     Body-No Open Toes
     Hair-Katrina
Outfit- Grad Suit Girl #1 (Graduation expansion pack)
     Accessory- Sunglasses
~My irreplaceable Silver Bullet 24" Pro cutter
Dear Sherri, will get in touch soon!
~Prang Brush Pen Silver for edges
~Aluminium Foil for sunglasses
~Class ACT Tassel Toss 12x12 from TPC Studios
~Those items that someday I just might keep track of.
I must confess, I have used this expansion pack for graduation cards before.  But it is the BEST on in my humble opinion.  If you want to know a secret, usually the long hair is placed first and then starting with the arms and sleeves, all the leg pieces and last the body and then the face and last piece of hair.  This is the usual order for all the expansion packs ScrappyDew offers for Scrap Factory.
So here is Molly in all her glory!  Congratulations!!

I just love the way the Silver pen brought out the
details in the gown.

The inside.  As you can see I foiled the phrase. "The futures so bright, I gotta wear shades"  by Timbuk3

Always decorate the back.

The envelope.
I have to say this file has never let me down.  Molly loved it!
Maybe next week I will have another post along the lines of Fathers Day.  Until then, Bright Blessings for the coming week, Jana.

Royals Expansion Pack 2 by ScrappyDew.com

Good evening, here is a flip card for my design team project using the Scrap Factory with the Royals Expansion 2 files. I used the Rag doll pieces as a print and cut. I will add the reveal flip in the comments. For the background of the dolls I ran the shape thru my Dot embossing folder and inked the edges red. The banner is attached with pop dots. Hope you enjoy!

Hoot Gibson March 09, 2016 05:33

Scrap Factory Program by ScrappyDew

They call him Hoot Gibson, after the cowboy. It would be the perfect card for her husbands 80th birthday. So Mary created it!

She used the Scrap Factory Doll Builder program for her project. Mary loves this program, she has come up with some amazing cards by utilizing the Mix and Match feature.

Boy Costume 5, hair - Shane's and Noah's beard, accessories -  flag and apple pie. Mary stated "The man hollered when he saw it."  :)

Cheerleader - Scrap Factory Doll Builder by ScrappyDew.com

The latest addition for Mary's sister’s class reunion project. Isn’t she cute?! You can create this and more just by using the base set of the Scrap Factory Doll Builder program. With added expansion packs and the Mix and Match feature, the combinations are endless.

Love all the added details, the little bows, chalked cheeks and the embossed hair.

Happy Birthday February 07, 2016 06:18

I am so glad you could make it back for another Saturday post featuring ScrappyDew digital files.  I've got a doozy for you today.  Heather is my daughter-in-law.  She is the best DIL in the whole wide world. (imho)  Each year I try to make a birthday card that reflects what she likes.  Well this year I have featured what she does as an occupation.  My dear Heather is a veterinarian.  She also is a college professor teaching Veterinarian Assistant courses at our local community college.  Her plate is full.  So this is what I dreamed up for this years card. Of course, lyrics first...

~ScrappyDew vault digital file Noah's Ark 2012
~ScrappyDew Scrap Factory Program
     Community Expansion Pack
          ~No Toes
          ~Orderly
          ~Hair=Edward
          ~Accessories=Stethoscope
~Black contact paper
~Graphic 45 Bohemian Rhapsody paper
~Silver Bullet Pro 24" die cutting machine
~Sure Cuts A Lot V4.41
~Font (inside) This is Ridiculous
~Font (outside) Andale Mono
~The amazing Foil Master
~EK Success & Jolee Stickers
~Envelope-Could 9 card stock dog bones
~And you know the rest...the things I always forget

The very first thing I did was to re-size the ark to fit a 6 x 6 inch card.  I rotated the card so that the fold was on the top (for a change).  Had to get some glitter on the card so I incorporated that into the waves.  I had the animal stickers for years, so they finally got on a card.  Please if you have any questions, just email me jtfrrst@gmail.com. Or PM me  on the Rhapsody On Paper page over in Facebook land.  So here is my finished birthday card for Heather.

If you look closely, she has a coffee in her hand.
Dutch Bros of course!
The coffee cup is the pill bottle from SF.

This is a digital print and cut on the
top inside.

The font is called This is ridiculous.

Last but not least, the back Heather has already received the card and was tickled pink.  Now hopefully next week I will have a mid-week post for Valentines day and a regular post for Saturday.  Stay tuned...you never know what I might be up to!!!

Bright blessings for the coming week, Jana

My Sunday Best - Banner

I decided to try something new. I needed a banner for my son's upcoming baptism. My Sunday Best was the perfect file for what I needed. You can also find the set as a Scrap Factory expansion pack! So I used the pieces within the file to make my first banner. I still need to string it up, so I couldn't get a great picture, but I do like how it turned out. I plan to make one of the little cuties all dressed up to go with the display!

Thanks for looking

Get Well Soon January 17, 2016 05:02

Today's card is a get well card for my DILs' mother.  She had knee replacement surgery recently.  I thought I would brighten her day with a special card.  Let's list the lyrics first...

~Scrap Factory program
     Girl-No open toes
     Hair-Lori
     Outfit-Just Girls outfit #5
     Accessories-Crutches and Bandaid
~All paper is Recollections
~Foilmaster by That's Scrap
~Purple Foil material fromThat's Scrap
~My incredible Silver Bullet 24" die-cutting machine
~Sure Cuts A Lot v4.008 software
~Stamp-Sorry about your boo-boo
~Many tools, glue and radio stations

The first thing I wanted to do was increase the size of the bandaid as a background element.  I selected all the bandaid elements and made them to fit a 6x6 card.  I also increased the size slightly on the crutches.  I wanted to put the crutches under her arms but I just didn't have time to figure this out.  The girl I kept at her original size.  Cut and glued all the elements together.  Then cut background papers at 5.5" and 5.75".  So here is how it came out.

The front of the card.  I just love the bandaid paper.
The inside.  Gail plays in the retired Marine Corp Band.  They
appeared in a parade in New Orleans for Mardi Gras
last year.
The back.  I don't feel a card is complete without
something on the back.
So that's it for this week.  Next week I will have something to share about my Post Holiday Howdie I have with a friend today.  We are having lunch and catching up on her trip to New Zealand and Australia this past summer.
So have a week filled with bright blessings, Jana

Happy Valentine's Day January 16, 2016 09:03

It ´s that time of the year when we pull out all our Valentine´s related craft stash.

This week, at ScrappyDew, they have a stunning "Happy Valentine´s Day" wordart.

You know, I love to work with wordart, so...

The adorable doll I´m using is from Scrappy Teens the newest expansion pack for the Scrap Factory.

Stand Up Eight December 18, 2015 12:27

This will be my last designing post of 2015,
I´m taking a "design vacation" lol

I wanted to finish this year with a positive message and I found this encouraging quote to make my last 2015 card.

This lovely skating girl is a ScrappyDew´s file included on Ice Skating expansion pack for the Scrap Factory.

The lovely facial expression is from ScrappyDew Facial Expressions Set 1.

Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!
See you again on 2016.

Quotes Card Series September 25, 2015 18:29

I love quotes!!!!

I have 907 quotes pinned to my Quotes board on Pinterest :o)

This week I got the idea to start a card series mixing some of my favorite quotes with the lovely ScrappyDew´s characters.

For my first card I used a beautiful card about life and the adorable french girl included on "Costume Parade" Scrap Factory expansion pack.
For the facial expressión I used "ScrappyDew Face Stamps Set 1"

I hope you enjoy this card series as much as me.

Applique Kitty Pillow!! September 05, 2015 07:25

I knew about this pillow idea prior to Mary sharing it on the ScrappyDew Facebook page. She was so excited about it when she first told me. Only a matter of about two hours and Mary had it completed!!
She used SusanBlueRobots "Animal Expansion Pack" for the Scrap Factory program.
Mary thought "out of the box" on this project. Using her sewing machine, she stitched the appliqué work along the edges of the pattern. I love seeing the DT come up with alternative ways of using the digital files.
OK, Mary has given you some inspiration to create and design your own pillow, would love to see what you come up with. Perfect idea for the kids room!!
